Parking with an Electric Car

In some places in Denmark, you can park for free with an electric car, but the rules may differ from municipality to municipality.

In the public car parks in Copenhagen Municipality (3000, 3100, 3200, 3300), you can park for free with an electric car. Here, it is important that you do NOT set your EasyPark app. NOTE! From 01.01.24, it will no longer be free.

In Aarhus Municipality's car parks (8000, 8100, 8200), 4 hours of free parking for electric cars are offered, followed by the normal rate. The hours are automatically included in the parking based on your registration number.

In Frederiksberg Municipality, electric cars are not exempt from paid parking, which came into effect on 01.10.2023

NOTE: This only applies to fully electric vehicles - and NOT hybrid cars.
